Shout out to Anas G who has been working so hard this term and has read an AMAZING 18 books!
I have been amazed by Carla who participated in our class showcase with a fantastic video of her singing. You can see this on our class twitter @pentlands2019
Some of you might be inspired by Alexa Mae’s innovative sports day that she planned and took part in. Looks brilliant!
Well done to Kayla for her fantastic poetry that really captures some strong emotions and messages.
Here are some memories to enjoy from our year as P5.
It is hard to believe the end of the session 2019/20 has arrived! It has certainly been unprecedented and we have all had to learn new skills, new ways of doing even every day tasks and adjust to a different way of living.
Hello all, please feel free to join us today as we go on a virtual trip to the zoo!

Before we set off, it costs money to enter the zoo. We are having a virtual tour which is free. We need to know where we are going! We are visiting: the pandas, penguins, the tigers and lions and the koalas. You will also get to visit some other animals today but do join us on our tour!
Here’s a link to the some maps for the zoo: https://www.edinburghzoo.org.uk/plan-your-visit/day-planner/maps-and-guides/
Here’s another video of tigers and of lion cubs so you can definitely see some animals if the Edinburgh ones are sleeping.
Post any fun facts you’ve learned!
Can you find out 3 things tigers love to eat? What about lions?

We are now on our last activity of the day!
Comment on your class blog or Twitter to share what has been your highlight of the day!
Even if you are touring at your own pace or at a different time, we would love to hear what you have to say.
Don’t forget to send in any work to your teacher that you want to share for our MEGA WOW Wednesday!
An easy read information guide for moving into P6. Some children might find it helpful to read this as the return to school in August gets closer. Any questions they may have can be sent using the comments box or directly to admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk and we will try to answer them as soon as we are able.
To all current Primary Five children and families,
I hope you are all doing well and have been able to stay in contact with each other over the lock down period. I am pleased to tell you that I will be your primary six teacher next year.
Although there are still many unknowns and questions about next year for children, parents and staff we will all work to make sure that next year is as normal as possible and children and families are well supported.
The classroom is looking a little different at the moment with the desks spaced two metres apart and the walls bare. But we can soon make it feel a little more warm and welcoming.
The grid for this week is all based on transition and moving on to primary six. It would be great to hear from as many of you as possible. You can email me at admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk with the subject ‘FAO Mr McPheely’. I have attached the grid and all other resources needed below. There is also a social story to help explain coming back to school too.
Hopefully I will hear from many of you over the next week. If not have a fantastic summer and I am looking forward to welcome you back in August!
