Lovely Weather – Stay SunSafe!

The forecast is for sunshine and high temperature this week so please be Sunsmart!

PUT suncream on your child before they come to school (remember back of their neck as well)

WEAR a hat – preferably one that covers the back of the neck

WEAR short sleeves but have a long sleeved top so they can cover up

BRING a water bottle with plain water

HAVE a raincoat as well (it is Scotland)

This picture shows the type of cream we will use in case of emergency to prevent sunburn. if your child has skin sensitivity they should bring their own in a named bottle. More information is available here http://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/sunscreen-and-sun-safety/ and on other sites.

P5 update

We are waiting for our seeds to grow. We have been giving them a head start in the classroom before we move them to our brand new planter.

Remember to come prepared for the rain with sensible shoes and a coat with a hood. We have been using the playground for outdoor learning and still like to get outside if it’s drizzly. Here are some drizzle inspired paintings…

We have been working on making our money go further and have been learning about managing a budget. To be able to do this we first had to learn about cost, affordability and pricing. We have worked on estimating prices before we check the real price online.

We enjoyed Active Schools sessions at Holyrood park recently and have been recording this towards the ‘Get Active, Stay Active’ part of our JASS award. Why not ask us to teach you one of the new games we have learned?

We were treated to a session with the new block play as a reward from Mrs Jessop. We enjoyed making a house together and then a slide.

Thanks for checking in! we are enjoying health week at the moment and will get our health rep to update you at the end of the week with what we have been up to. P5.

Assembly 27th May 2021

I hope that you are all enjoying Health Week! I know the weather has been a bit miserable but that has certainly not dampened our spirits as everyone has been enjoying a whole range of activities to support our physical and mental health and wellbeing!

It has been great fun watching the Buddies in Primary 5, 6 and 7 Wake Up! Shake Up! with the nursery and younger classes. There have been some energetic daily miles, some relaxing yoga, mindful colouring and concocting of healthy smoothies! I believe the next focus is sleeping! I am pretty good at napping (so is my cat) so this could be my forte!

I hope you enjoy this week’s assembly https://youtu.be/QZ0KbMlo_08 Take care and keep healthy!
