Oreo Update

Wednesday 25th March

Oreo and I have been doing the live ‘PE with Joe Wicks’ YouTube videos. Have you been joining in? Stream them live at 9am or watch them later in the day 😊

We’ve been baking, decorating and eating fairy cakes! We are making sure to only eat 1 a day (even though they are super yummy!) as we know they are a treat.

Finally, we are so excited to share with you that the sunflower seeds you planted on the 18th March have started the first stage of growing from seed to seedling! We will keep taking and posting updates for you all to see.

We would really love to see what you are up to so click ‘comment’ on here or send an email to the school admin address, with the subject ‘P1 update for Miss Copeland’.

P1 Home Learning Wall

Please click to view the first Early Level (P1) Home Learning Wall.

This cross-curricular learning grid is the format we are currently using to assist in learning provision, for the next two weeks. Please work through these items at your own pace and in an order of your choice. Please do adapt activities to suit your own confidence level and what is available to you at home. A new grid will be available next week.

As time goes on, activities will be uploaded on your child’s Active Learn and Education City site. Their individual log in has been written on the inside cover of their reading record, which is kept inside the plastic reading folder. If you have difficulty finding this, please email the school admin account.

Learning comes in many forms and through a range of experiences. There is no firm expectation that all of the learning wall will be completed each week. We will endeavour to support you through your learning choices.

Lastly, we would love to see some good examples of learning to share on the class blog. If you would like your photos to be shared, please send to admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk.

We are missing you all and hope to see you soon!

School Closures and home learning

During the school closures we will be updating the class blogs regularly to guide learning at home. If you have any questions please do email: Admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk

You should, hopefully, receive a home learning pack to assist in learning from home but we will be adding additional tasks here over the next few weeks.

There will be a School Closure Learning Grid for each stage (Early for P1, First for P2-4, Second for P5-7) published weekly on the blogs for you to work through over the course of a week, or more.

Here are some Active classroom activities that you may find useful (and are referenced in the School Closure Home Learning Grids).

You should have online log-ins and passwords for Active Learn and Education City. These are guides to help you log in: Active Learn – How to access and Education city – How to access if you didn’t receive. Please do email if you do not have the password information for your child.
