Primary 1 on Twitter!

Dear Parents/ Carers and pupils,

To help us keep in touch we are setting up a class Twitter page. The age limit is 13 on Twitter so it is important that parents and carers monitor and oversee the communication on this account. The account will be private and monitored during school hours only. It is important that your child stays safe online so here is some information for you. https://www.net-aware.org.uk/networks/twitter/

If we have photo permission for the school website and blog we will apply this to this Twitter account as well. The code of conduct applies so everyone should be polite, considerate and respectful. It is a good way for you to share what you have been doing and for us to keep in touch.

You can follow our class twitter account @RoyalMileP1 and our school Twitter account @RoyalMilePS.

The Twitter accounts are linked to the blog to help you stay in the loop.

Can you design us a profile picture for our class account?

  • You must include the words ‘P1’ or ‘Primary 1’ in your design. (You could also add ‘RMPS’ or ‘Royal Mile Primary School’ if you like)
  • The picture can be made by hand or on a computer/tablet.
  • It must be in the shape of a circle. You may wish to use this document to help with your layout.
  • Keep it simple!

Please email submissions to  admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk.

Thank you!

Miss Copeland

Hello from Oreo!

Hi everyone, Oreo here!

Spring has sprung! The birds are tweeting and the blossom is out.

Miss Copeland has been busy re-potting her plants so they have more space to grow. Can you see all of the roots are squished together? The plants should be happier now they have more space. Hopefully they will grow big red flowers soon!

I thought I would try and learn a new instrument. You need a lot of puff to play the harmonica. I felt a little bit like the Big Bad Wolf… Maybe we can start a band with the instruments that you made last week!

I have also been doing some yoga with Jamie from Cosmic Kids Yoga. The Zen Den videos are my favourite as they teach me mindfulnessHere is me doing the Frozen one!

BIG SHOUT OUT!

Hello from Oreo!

Hi Primary 1, Oreo here!

I felt a little bit glum this morning when I woke up.

The sun was hiding behind a cloud and it was raining.

Miss Copeland reminded me about rainy thoughts and sunny thoughts and how thinking sunny thoughts helps us be resilient. I wrote them down and it made me feel much better.

I hope you are all thinking sunny thoughts too!

I was talking to some friends who were trying to cheer me up and they said that some Zoos have cameras which you can watch from home!

Edinburgh and Kanzas Zoo both have cameras watching penguins which you would find in Antarctica. Kanzas also has a camera to film them underwater!!

Watch here > Edinburgh Zoo  and Kanzas Zoo (America)

My friends Bella and Beans have a mission which I think you can all help with which might help you think in a sunny way > click here if you want to join their mission.

I’ve also been helping Miss Copeland plan next week’s learning for you to do at school.

Big shout out to Frankie who has been doing some super Spanish work with his mum! This really cheered me up today! Keep up the good work!

Keep sending in pictures as we love seeing what you are up to so click ‘comment’ on here or send an email to the school admin address, with the subject ‘P1 update for Miss Copeland’.

👍 Big thumbs up 👍
