P2 Homework 26th April

General homework for 26th April 2021

Literacy – We are going to share/show at least 3 facts about an aspect of Space that interests us.
This can be something we have looked at before (such as any of the planets) in more detail, or something we’ve not looked at (e.g. black holes).
This research can be shared verbally, with a poster or some notes but must be ready to show/share for Thursday this week.

Maths – complete the coin identifying sheet that goes out on Monday.
If possible, please send your child in with a couple of different coins (e.g 1p, 2p) to use for some coin-rubbing work this week.

Reading – Reading books will go home this week on Thursday to return next week on Monday. Reading books will not go out where a book has not been returned.

Primary 2 Week in Review

Firstly a big warm welcome back to everyone this week! Wow, it’s already heading to summer.

Please do check that P.E. kits and suitable outdoor clothing is coming into school. As the weather becomes warmer, water bottles will prove even more invaluable.

Due to Bikeability starting up on Thursday afternoons, we are going to shift our main P.E. slot from that time. Having voted between a couple of options we will move this slot to Mondays.

Literacy

We continued with ‘soft c’ patterns this week with ‘nce’ as found in once or chance. We continued to practise writing and thinking about the meanings of the words and we played one of the games below though some of us were excited about trying out some of the other free games on this word list: https://www.spellzone.com/word_lists/games-320.htm

Art

On our first day back we had a go at making some ‘stained glass’ window crafts using tissue paper and black sugar paper which will have gone home this week.

Maths

We have been working on our number skills and laying out answers for questions this week. We used some Level 1 work from https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10 to work with.

It was so lovely to see everyone and get back into the swing of things. Please do check out the blog for homework on Monday and we look forward to seeing and hearing from you!

Assembly 22nd April 2021

Welcome to this week’s Assembly. Although we don’t have any stars of the week – we do have some amazing superstars all working hard to achieve their JASS Awards!

I also need to say that PRIMARY 1 have impressed the school office staff immensely with their lining up and quiet walking so they get to use the BLOCK PLAY in the undercroft this week! Enjoy!

Next week we’ll be finding out who has won the House Cup for April 2021 and I am looking forward to writing all the GREEN names on the Roll of Honour in the open area – hoping my pen runs out of ink because there are so many!

Enjoy assembly! https://youtu.be/tmXwqqxZ2JM
