Second Level Home Learning for School Closure- Week 2

Dear Primary 5, 6 and 7.

We hope that you and your families are keeping well. We are thinking of you all and hoping that you are safe, well and content at this time.

Beneath this message are some further links to support you in your home learning. We hope that you have found the previous grid both helpful and enjoyable. If you have not yet had a chance to look at them, please do not worry. We understand that this is an unusual time and it can take a while to settle into a routine that works for you and your family.

The first link is the new home learning grid for this week. Within it are suggested activities for each curricular area, building on those from last week.

The second link is a list of classical music pieces and suggested activities. It contains information about the composer, the music, links to an introduction online and a full performance. At the end of each page, there are suggested creative activities to link to the music.

Finally, the third link is a list of helpful websites, all of which are free and designed to support you in your learning. The document contains links and descriptors, for you to explore those which interest you.

Primary 7 Blog

Dear Primary 7

Dear Primary 7,

I wanted to write to you all to let you know that I am thinking of each of you at these unusual times. I do hope that you are enjoying yourselves and spending quality time with your families.

As you can see from the Primary 7 blog, Mr McPheely, Ms Murray and myself, have been posting lots of ideas for learning activities for you to complete at home. Please do not stress yourselves out if you have not had a chance to look at them yet. It takes time to adapt to new circumstances and get into routines that work for you and those at home. When you do get a chance, remember that if anything confuses you or is not clear, you can reply on the blog or email the school admin account and I will get back to you as soon as I can. admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk

I would love to see some examples of your work (photos can be sent to admin) to post on the blog and help us to stay in touch. Alternatively, if you would like to reply to this post to let me know what you have been doing, I would love to hear from you. I was delighted to see that some of you have been doing activities on Education City. Fantastic!

Do you remember a few weeks ago, how we discussed what skill we would love to perfect if we could have a genius tutor in anything we chose? I remember that several of you wanted to perfect the art of cooking, baking or art! I hope that you are taking this opportunity to try some new things! I made coffee and walnut cupcakes and lemon drizzle cupcakes at the weekend. (SO tasty, even if I do say so myself). As I am hoping to move to a new flat soon, I shall be creating new bakes with whatever needs to be used in my baking cupboard! Watch this space!

Someone who is loving the current situation is Copper. I will attach a photo of him for you to see. As far as he knows, we are home only to play with him and he is having the time of his life!

Please stay safe and keep connected! Thinking of you all.

Take care,

Miss Kerr
