Summer of Fun – Free Activities for children on low incomes with Edinburgh Leisure

We want to support everybody to get active and enjoy their summer so we have identified several opportunities within our summer sports coaching programmes that we would like to offer at no cost to children from families living on low incomes.

  • Opportunities for coached activities for children in Swimming, Tennis and Gymnastics
  • Opportunities for fun physical activity sessions that the whole family can take part in together.

Families who are eligible for the programme include children who receive school uniform and meal grants, care experienced children, young carers, children whose families are in receipt of Universal Credit and children supported by a child’s plan.

We are happy for this information to be shared widely with all families, giving those who are eligible the opportunity to self-select.

Completed forms should be returned to active@edinburghleisure.co.uk by JULY 4th

Welcome to P3!

Hello everyone.

I’m very happy to let you know that your new teacher for P3 will be…

ME!

Mr. Madine!

Some people find my name a bit tricky to pronounce. It is Ma-dine (the dine part has a “magic e”. It’s like in the TV show “Come Dine With Me”!)

A little about me

I’m sure some of you have seen me cycling to and from school on my bike. For me it is faster than driving or taking the bus, even though I live far away. It’s better for the environment and it’s also good exercise – something else I like.

I have 2 little girls. Emily is 3 and Lucy is 4 months! As your parents will understand, they take up a lot of my time when I’m not at school.

I like playing lots of different sports; like swimming, football and cricket, but I also play the guitar and some other instruments. Hopefully we’ll be able to learn some songs to sing in class!

I am looking forward to meeting you soon and learning all your names.

Thank you,

Mr Madine

Summer activities for English Learners

Here are some summer activities for children. They can practise English language skills in a fun way through activities which are open to all children. They can meet other children, make new friends and develop English language skills – it’s the holidays!

Assembly 18th June – Celebrate!!

Good Morning! So I thought we would celebrate the last House Card Winners of this school year 2020 – 2021 on FANTASTIC FRIDAY!

These names might be the winners this week but let’s remember that every week we have celebrated achievements at Royal Mile Primary School – Well done to everyone who has stayed on green, earned housepoints and received stickers and postcards. Well done to the JASS AWARD winners, whether they have achieved a full award or a just one part (you can finish next year) Well done all of us – through all the changes and challenges of this school year we have remembered to look after ourselves and each other.

Next week we will be celebrating and sharing our special memories from this year! What a year it has been – and we should all feel really, really proud of ourselves and each other!

So to get us started here are the House Card Winners https://youtu.be/cwKcXEJohG8
