The story this week’s learning in the nursery will be based around is:

Oliver’s Fruit Salad by Vivian French

The children will explore the taste and texture of the fruits in a fruit salad. Can they help you prepare a salad with their favourite fruits? 

The children will talk about the shape and colour of the fruits.                                                                 

 Can they name 3 red fruits? 

The children will think about where fruit grows.                                                                                           

 Can they tell you what fruit grows on a tree? 

I had a little turtle.

I had a little turtle,

His name was Tiny Tim.

I put him in the bathtub

to see if he could swim.

He drank up all the water,

He ate up all the soap.

And now he’s lying in the bath

With a bubble in his throat.

Bubble, bubble ,bubble, POP!

Communication: Draw a picture of tim swimming in the bath.

Thinking skills: Find 3 things that floats and 3 things that sink.

Relationships: How is Tim feeling once he drank all the water?

Motor skills: Can you blow bubbles?
