Scottish Child Payment is a new benefit being introduced by the Scottish Government to tackle child poverty. It is for low income families already in receipt of qualifying benefits. To start with, Scottish Child Payment will be available to families with children under six years of age only. We remain committed to rolling out this benefit to families with children under 16 years of age by the end of 2022.
Scottish Child Payment will open for applications in November 2020, with first payments being made from the end of February 2021. Low-income families with a child under six will be able to apply for £10 per child, per week – equivalent to £520 per year. There are no limits on the number of eligible children supported by Scottish Child Payment.
Social Security Scotland recognises that people communicate and engage in lots of different ways.
If you have any questions, please contact us as soon as possible, by emailing the team at NationalEngagementandPartnershipTeam@socialsecurity.gov.scot
In LCC2 the home learning activities will usually be based on what we have learned during the previous week, in order consolidate and practice what has been covered in class. Suggested activities (see below) for home learning will be regularly posted to the class blog.
There is no expectation that all of these activities will be completed and it is up to you and your child which of them you would like to focus on.
Where possible, you should be email examples of home learning activities to admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk. If it is not possible to submit online please send the work in with your child on a Thursday, so that it can be quarantined for three days.
Please get in touch via admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk if you have any questions.
Mrs Rush
The Scottish Government have issued new rules to keep us safe and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. New rules can be confusing for us all.
Here is a visual representation of some of the new rules. They will help us all to understand them a bit better.

We will continue to check and follow local government advice.
Remember to clean your hands often and stay physically distanced from people who are not in your household.
