LC1 – Home learning grids

Dear LC1 boys,

For the next two weeks you will be learning from home. I have prepared a learning grid for each one of you. In there, you will find different fun activities and tasks. Complete them in your own pace and order.

Keep your completed work or take photos of it. You can also ask and adult to take a photo of you when you work on one of the tasks.

If you have any questions or you are confused about any of the activities you can send an email to school. You will find the school’s admin email address on your learning grid. I will be available and happy to support you in your learning and to answer your questions.

I will be posting more examples and ideas of fun activities so please visit our blog regularly.

I understand that this situation is difficult but try to stay calm and happy, and if you feel sad or bored, you can contact me using school’s email 😊

Dear boys, most of all please keep healthy and stay safe!

Missing you already!

Mrs Machowiak

Information and Support during School Closure

Dear Parents and Carers, at this difficult time I am sure you will join me in thanking all the school staff for their hard work and dedication.

We have been planning for ‘the worst and hoping for the best’ so we have already got some resources ready to share with you.

Please use the class blog to check for activity grids, similar to the  homework grids your child uses every week. There will be activities and challenges for them to complete and work through. Every child should have a login fro Educationcity and Activelearn, check inside their homework folder for these. Teachers will allocate tasks on these platforms.

Paper and hard copies of some activities and resources will be sent out to those children attending or via a letterbox run by staff tomorrow. We will explore other drop off/ collection points if we can and keep you informed.

At this time we have no further information about school meals etc. Please look at the City of Edinburgh Council website for further updates and information.

The school admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk will be monitored and we will try to answer any questions as quickly as we can.

We appreciate your understanding and support at this time.

Please stay safe and keep well.

Best wishes

Nicky

ART GALLERY

ART GALLERY

The Art Gallery Opening was a great success and we have to thank the very talented artists at our school, parents and visiting artists for taking part in this event. The Art Reps were amazing curators and in the cafe they were great at encouraging everyone to contribute to our community wall.

Very soon even more amazing art will fill our school. P5, 6 and 7 are currently working with an artist at The Queen’s Gallery and will produce a piece of work based on the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition.

Please do look at this work when you come to Parent Consultations as well as the class displays linked to Science week.
