Another exciting day for Primary 7 in the fantastic Cairngorms National Park!

This morning, Group 1 went on a forest adventure. With the views and supportive attitudes reminiscent of the Fellowship of the Ring, we made our way up hill to be rewarded by the most beautiful view. Enroute, we tasted wood sorrels (they taste like the skin of green apples…). See our photos below (cue LOTR soundtrack in the background…)

On the way down, we took it in turns to choose the route and lead the group. We paused for an exciting game of camouflage (Maria had a ) and had fun with some creative hiding places!

Group 2 went on a huge bike ride this morning and had their lunch as a picnic.We all mastered the gears on the bikes to get up the hills and down the hills. We learned how to do the ready position for mountain biking and showed good sense on the roads.

What an action packed day for Primary 7!

Both groups went Gorge Walking this morning. Group 1 worked wonderfully as a compassionate team, always looking out for one another and proffering a hand to help. Group 2 embraced the challenge and the cold water and came out victorious! Check out our many photos below!

This afternoon, Group 1 went mountain biking around the trails and tracks in the surrounding forest. Once again, they worked together and looked after one another in the tough terrain. We stopped to throw stones in the river Feshie and Maria uncovered a truly ginormous rock! We also attempted Andy’s Challenge-a really steep incline -we didn’t make it to the top but the reigning champion Maria, made it to the rocks about 1/3 of the way! (We should emphasise that this is super steep!!) Julian won the prize for the best helmet hair!

In the afternoon, Group 2 did archery! Many of the P7’s scored a bullseye and improved their accuracy skills! The red flag means that we are shooting arrows so they know not go on that side if they don’t want to get shot!

After all our adventures, we had some well deserved chilled time.

Now it’s time for hot chocolate, supper and bed! We hope you aren’t missing us too much!

Dear Primary 7 families,

We arrived safely in Lagganlia at lunch time today after a smooth journey with beautiful scenery.

This afternoon, we met the instructors and explored the campus. We made our beds and began to settle in.

This evening, we shared a meal in the girls lodge around the big table and ordered our breakfast and lunch for tomorrow. To further help us get to know the campus, we are embarking on a night time Scatter Hunt. (A little like a treasure hunt relating to finding information about key landmarks or features). After this, we are going to have some quiet time and an early night so we have plenty of energy for the week to come (Mrs H, Mrs F and Mr B are fervently crossing their fingers for the early night!).

It’s been a busy start to the new year in Primary 7. Today in Assembly, we shared our learning with the school and we thought you might like to see the copy of the slides that we wrote for it. See the PDF below!

On the 24th of January, we went to the Risk Factory, where we experienced (safely of course) a range of dangerous scenarios and identified what to do to and how to avoid putting ourselves in risky situations.
