Black History Month

Throughout October we have been learning about famous and historical people of colour. We particularly focused on Mary Seacole and Rosa Parks and will be continuing our learning through our mini topic on the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and the British Empire. Please have a look at our poster and leave us a comment to say what you think.

Home Learning Week Commencing 9th November 2020

Dear Primary Six Families,

I have attached the home learning grid for this week. It would be great to see examples of what you have been doing at home. These can be sent to admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk or sent in with your child. Please be aware that any work sent into school will not be returned until it has had sufficient time to be quarantined.

Have a great week!

Tuck Shop

From MONDAY 9th NOVEMBER 2020 we will be selling tuck at the school office between 9 – 9.15am daily.

Every item will cost 50p and exact change would be great. We have risk assessed and will choose only individually wrapped items or fruit with an easy peel skin. Where possible we will buy our stock from Edinburgh Food Initiative which is a community social enterprise.

These labels show the ingredients and warnings so please ensure that you advise your child as well. We will be aware of dietary requirements as well.

The pupil council will be asking for suggestions for stock going forward as well.

Home Learning Week Commencing 2nd November

To Primary Six Families,

I have attached the weekly summary for last week with activities to consolidate learning at home. Please be aware that it is not necessary to complete every task on the grid, but just a selection of activities from the areas your child feels they need post practice in.

I have also attached the spelling list to support with learning at home. We are working from level six and have covered the sounds listed on the weekly grid.

Please feel free to email in any examples of what you have been doing at home if you would like feedback.

All the best!

Mr McPheely
