Primary 4 homework W.B 18.03.24

Hello everyone,

The spelling pattern we are focussing on this week are words ending with -ke. These are often confused with -ck endings in the children’s classwork and in some spelling assessments, so although they appear relatively simple spelling words the children are needing time to practise these.

bake

cake

lake

make

rake

stake

flake

trike

bike

like

pike

spike

joke

choke

broke

smoke

duke

Please select 2 activities from the grid below to practice your spelling words:

Your maths homework is further revision of time, and has been printed and handed out.

Finally, following on from some of the fantastic learning we have been doing in science I am giving you a small research task, to find out about one of the many important people in the history of electricity.

The spelling and maths homework is due back to me on Thursday 21st March, and the electricity research homework is due back to me on Thursday 28th March.

Thank you,

Mrs Rush

Primary 4 homework- W.B 11.03.24

Hello everyone,

I hope you enjoyed playing your games for homework last week.

This week our spelling words end with a -y , making an “ee” sound.

Our core words are: bendy, crispy, dusty, empty, fussy, lumpy, messy, misty, nasty, rusty, smelly, sticky, very, grumpy.

In class we also thought of lots more words with this ending e.g creamy, fizzy, angry, funky, hilly, jolly, crusty, mucky, muddy, windy….

Can you think of any more at home? What do you notice about most of these words? (clue: are they mostly nouns, adjectives or verbs?)

Please select 2 activities from the grid to practise:

For maths you can choose between 3 fractions tasks. Please copy the grid into your homework jotter:

Fractions 1:

Fractions 2:

Fractions 3:

Please let me know if you have any questions, or need any help.
