Remember our big homework is due in January! Dates for each child’s presentation will be sent home during the first week back after the New Year so the holidays will be a perfect opportunity to work on this if you haven’t already started!

Advent Maths
Primary 4 this week started an advent maths challenge with lots of questions all about the number 24. Some are way beyond our first level but children have been rising to the challenge and Kamil went home to find out the answer to 24 divided by 1000 and now knows that it is 0.024 😊

Edinburgh Christmas Art Competitions
Primary 3 to Primary 7 took part in the Edinburgh Christmas Schools Competition. The art reps voted on all the entries and the staff voted for their favourite to enter as well.
Our very talented P5 Art Rep created one of the winning designs for the Winter Windows Competition!

This amazing giraffe was chosen to be part of the Nativity Scene Art Installation at St Andrew’s Square!

I wanted to say a huge well done to everyone who took part and fantastic three school finalists below!

Scribble Spelling!
This week Primary 4 have tried a new spelling activity – SCRIBBLE SPELLING – but it doesn’t mean we don’t use our best handwriting…
We ‘take a pencil for a walk’ and draw a simple swirly pattern on our page and then we fill each section with a spelling word which we repeat and repeat until the space is filled. We can use a different colour for each space to create a wonderful picture!!

Scribble Spelling will be one of our suggested activities for spelling homework next week, we look forward to practising this at home!

Hello,
I am selling some home-made badges to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland.
They are £1 each.
If you would like one, please give the money to your teacher for safe keeping.
I will come into classrooms on Mondays and Thursdays.
The last day to buy them will be the 9th December.
