Homework 11th Jan 2022

Hello everyone! Yesterday P3 brought home the new “Homework Bag”. This bag will be coming home every Tuesday with a new book and new activities so they can keep practicing their Numeracy and Literacy skills at home. As it has been explained in the classroom:
* The Reading Books should be brought to school everyday. On the following Monday, the books will stay at school so we can change them by new ones for Tuesday.
* The Spelling Activities sheet will stay with them for the rest of the year, so they should keep it in the homework bag unless they are using it, to avoid misplacing it.
* I would like them to bring their completed homework back to school before or on the following Monday.

There are three pieces of homework for this week:
Reading – new book, and activities to practice vocabulary and/or develop their comprehension skills.
Spelling – this week we will be working with the sounds “ay” and “ee”. They can exercise their spelling by choosing and completing three (or more) activities from the Spelling Activities sheet.
Numeracy – addition and subtraction practice on the first part. The second part focuses on their ability to order events (activities or routines) that happen along the day in relation to the different parts we divide the day into (morning, afternoon, evening, night). The times shown in each section are illustrative.

You can find an electronic copy of their homework below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me through the comments or by writing to the school email and they will forward it to me.

Have a great week!
Ms Sola

Edinburgh Christmas Art Competitions

Primary 3 to Primary 7 took part in the Edinburgh Christmas Schools Competition.  The art reps voted on all the entries and the staff voted for their favourite to enter as well.

Our very talented P5 Art Rep created one of the winning designs for the Winter Windows Competition!

This amazing giraffe was chosen to be part of the Nativity Scene Art Installation at St Andrew’s Square!

I wanted to say a huge well done to everyone who took part and fantastic three school finalists below!

P3 Outdoor Learning

Good afternoon all,

Today in our Outdoor Learning we were at Holyrood Park. Our learning was focused on Health and Wellbeing. In class we discussed and learned about Bonfire Night and fireworks. How are they made? How do we keep ourselves safe?

To develop and consolidate this learning further we created firework pictures using the natural materials we found in the wooded areas of the park.

I was very impressed by the creativity and imagination of the pupils this morning.

I hope everyone stays safe throughout this weekend if you are watching any Bonfires or Firework Displays.

Thank you,

Mr. Madine
