Primary 1 Open Day

Royal Mile Primary School would like to invite parents and carers of children who’s date of birth is between 1 March 2018 and 28 February 2019 to our school open day on Wednesday 2nd November, ahead of their application to Primary 1 classes for August 2023.

We will run two sessions this day which will each involve a tour of the school by our House Captains, a short information session, a chance to meet other parents and an opportunity to receive help with the completion of the application forms required if needed. Primary 1 enrolment this year is online and will be open from Monday 31st October until Friday 18th November to do this and for any more information please visit https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/school-places/start-primary-school/1

We look forward to welcoming you then,

Happy weekend everyone!

Hello everyone,

Hope you all have had a lovely week and looking forward to some downtime at the weekend.

Primary 3 children have been working so hard throughout these weeks and it’s great to see everyone’s efforts and enthusiasm in all that we do 🙂

On Thursday, the children came home with a reading book and a little bit of homework to do. May I ask that you take some time to read with your child for enjoyment and talk about the story, looking out for any new vocabulary. If the writing task is not completed fully, that is ok, but we would like the reading to be done at some point. The folders and books are to be returned to school on Wednesday. Many thanks for your cooperation.

There was also a list of tricky words which can be kept at home and the children can learn to sight read these and continue to write them regularly.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend and see you on Monday.

Mrs Ho

House and Vice Captains

Last Friday, Royal Mile Primary School voted on their house and vice captains. Primary 7 worked really hard on their persuasive speeches and delivered them to a whole school assembly-which takes a lot of nerve! Well done to everyone who took part and the winners of each house are:

House Captain: Cole Vice House Captain: Amelie
House Captain: Kaiden Vice House Captain: Brisa
House Captain: Alya Vice House Captain: Seth
House Captain: Morea Vice House Captain: Chris
