SLT TIPS

Fantastic Friday!
This week at nursery we have started to discuss Spring. We have been exploring the life cycles of different animals, insects and plants with puzzles, pictures and books. We also made some lovely butterflies, caterpillars and spring flowers in the art area and watched a fun video about the different seasons. We have also been creating a masterpiece for the school Art Gallery, celebrating the diversity within our nursery.
We have been enjoying some new resources in the house area; being builders and fixing stuff around the nursery, chopping fruit and vegetables and doing some housework. We have also been building lots of interesting structures in our construction area inside and with our loose parts outside. We have also been enjoying our new listening station; playing identify the sound games and listening to nursery rhymes.
We celebrated two birthdays this week so we helped to bake two delicious cakes for snack. We also helped to make some tasty pancakes and some pink playdough that smelled amazing. We have been playing with the sand and the water; measuring, pouring, experimenting and using the small world animals.
We have been enjoying the warmer weather in the garden; playing in our new outdoor sandpit, creating our own climbing frames and slides with loose parts, drawing colourful pictures, speeding around the road on our bikes and scooters and making ‘meals’ in our mud kitchen.
Have a great weekend and please feel free to post pictures of the fun you’ve been having on the Learning Journals. We love to see all the fun times you have at home!

Fantastic Friday!
This week at nursery we have been continuing to discuss different countries around the world, the people and animals that live there and drawing and identifying their flags. We played a flag matching game, made planet Earth pictures and used a world map to colour and identify different countries. We have been listening to songs in some of the different languages spoken by the children in the nursery, practising some phrases and reading dual language stories.
We have been very busy playing imaginary games in the construction and home areas; building houses, dens and shops. We were pleased to get some sand for our sand tray and enjoyed measuring and pouring in the water tray. We helped to make some delicious biscuits that we all ate for snack.
We have started our forest schools again so some of us went out on a woodland adventure; played hide and seek, collected so we sticks and explored the area. We also enjoyed the snow on Thursday and a few of us went on a wintery walk to Holyrood Park.
We hope you enjoy your weekend and please post some pictures of the fun you have at home on the Learning Journals, we love to see what you’ve been up to!
