Fantastic Friday!

Welcome back to Fantastic Friday where we showcase the amazing work and play done in the nursery each week. This week in nursery, we have been very busy! We have carried on our interest of Autumn and space into another week. We have made some lovely star biscuits for a fun space snack 🌟🍪, we carried this over to the play dough area where we were able to use the star shape cutters for their own biscuits and their space adventures.

In the art area, we made some Autumn pictures (using leaves, we could glue with them and make some lovely leave printing). We were able to use the materials to make their own Autumn tree. We have also been making lots of space pictures using chalks. We have also been exploring in the water area, lots of different colours and glitter which looks a lot like space.

In the investigation area, we have been discussing animals that hibernate, why they do this and what do they need to do this? This interest is supported with stories, using the iPads and white board to find more interesting facts to discuss and see.

We hope you enjoy your weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday. Please post some pictures of what you get up to on the Learning Journals!

Fantastic Friday!

Welcome back to Fantastic Friday, where we showcase the amazing work and play done in the nursery each week! This week we have been continuing to learn about Space, with lots of the children now able to identify planets and point out which one is which. They have made galaxies and rockets with Clara in the art. They also made aliens out of the play dough which was extra sticky! We have been enjoying the book “The Way Back Home” about a boy and alien who get stuck on the moon and practicing the song “Five Little Men in a Flying Saucer.”

The children also took part in sensory play with dry rice. Some just liked to explore the textures between their fingers while others pretended it was water and added boats and sea life.

Outside, we have been looking for signs of Autumn, with the children noting it is getting colder and darker, as well as the leaves on our trees beginning to change colour. We will continue to explore this further next week.

We hope you have a great weekend and please post some pictures of all the fun you have at home on the Learning Journals!

Fantastic Friday!

Welcome back to Fantastic Friday where we showcase the amazing work and play done in the nursery each week!

Even though it has been a short week we have had lots of fun! We have been continuing our discussions and stories learning about Space and gravity. We have been doing some fun cosmic yoga, singing songs about different planets and stars and enjoying some fun astronaut role play.

We have also been discussing the seasonal change to Autumn; making beautiful colourful leaf pictures and talking about what weather changes we will start to see. We have already noticed that some of the leaves on our trees in the garden have started to turn yellow and fall off. We look forward to going out on walks to collect some and splash in muddy puddles!

We have been enjoying spending lots of time in the garden; building houses, playing fun role play games, what’s the time mr wolf, hide and seek, superhero chasing games, drawing and painting lovely pictures and reading stories.

We are off on Monday so we look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday the 20th. Please post some lovely pictures of the fun you get up to on the learning journals! Please bring back any outstanding forms, especially the fluoride toothpaste forms as we need them in before we can start brushing our teeth again at nursery. Have a great long weekend!

Fantastic Friday!

Welcome back to Fantastic Friday where we showcase the amazing work and play done in the nursery each week! We hope everyone had a fantastic summer holiday, we have been hearing lots of lovely stories about what everyone got up to in the summer. We have been welcoming some new friends into nursery and have enjoyed playing all together.

This week in the playroom, we have been getting to know our new friends and getting used to the playrooms routines such as snack/lunchtime. Some of the older children have taken on the responsibility of helping to show the newer children where the toilets, garden area and dinner hall is. We have been exploring all of the playrooms areas and spending lots of time in the garden too.

This term we also have the opportunity of using the school gym hall on a Tuesday and Friday morning, we also plan to get out and about into our local community. So can we please ask that your child’s KiC form is returned to the nursery ASAP, if you have misplaced this please ask staff for another. We need these forms back so we can go on trips/outings.

If you have any questions regarding the nursery or your child, please speak to a member of staff or give us call. Please continue to post pictures of the fun you have at home on the Learning Journals.
