Benmore-The Arrival

Monday at Benmore!

Hello to all of you! We have arrived safely! We are unpacked, fed and ready for a well-earned rest!

Benmore House is situated in Benmore Botanic Gardens, which we explored this afternoon. As it was raining, we suited up in wet weather gear and enjoyed jumping in the puddles! Some of us tried our hand at a mini-gorge walk-climbing up the streams to reach the top of hills.

In the evening, we went on a night walk. In our groups, we guided one another through the forest in the dark, while holding onto a string to show us the way. This is to help our groups become teams.

That’s all from us today! Check in later for news and photos of day two!!

Yours,

World book day

Check out the world book day site for Cool stories and videos

For anyone who has no idea what world book day is it is…technically a day celebrating books. It is celebrated a lot in other countries in the world and we celebrate it too! Even though it sounds super boring most people like it, we don’t have a reason for celebrating it .

Check out the Support for Learning blog. We sometimes post things on that blog too.

And check out the P6 blog it is very good and is a great blog.

Mrs Finlaysons Reading Habits

Miss Finlayson was interviewed by a P6.

How many times a day do you read?

I read the metro on the bus.At school I read lots. I read messages and texts on my phone and at night I try to read a bit of a book for enjoyment.

How long was it since you read with a pet?

My dog cookie likes to curl up on my feet when I’m reading but I never read her a story out loud. I will try that this weekend.

How many books have you read in your whole life?

I don’t know ,too many to count.I know that when I’m on holiday I can read about 15 books each summer!

What is the oldest book you have ever read?

Most of my books are bought new but when I was little I went to a second hand book shop and bought an old copy of Ann of green gables and I loved that it was an old dusty book with no illustrations on the cover.
