Lovely New Books- Challenging Stereotypes and Celebrating Our Rich Cultural Capital!

Here are just a few of the wonderful new books that we are adding to our class libraries. There is a mixture of fiction and non -fiction titles for all the classes, Early Years to Primary 7.

They celebrate the achievements of people from across the world and across time zones. They encourage our young people to have high aspirations and a growth mindset. They reflect the diversity and rich cultural capital of our school community and our school Vision, Values and Aims.

Look out for more information and ideas from our school Equalities Group as well as updates of our Equalities Policies and a chance to contribute to this important part of the life and work of the school.

Fantastic Friday!

It’s time for another Fantastic Friday, where we showcase the great work and play taking place at home and in the nursery! We have been learning about Chinese New Year this week and reading the story Chelsea’s Chinese New Year. Oskar made a brilliant lantern, showed off his great mark making and went on a fun walk in the sunshine! Ava made delicious pancakes for Pancake Day, made a beautiful lantern and went on an adventure to a Chinese garden! Mason made some tasty pancakes and enjoyed the snow by building a snowman and going sledging! Great work everyone, thank you so much for posting all your amazing pictures. It has been lovely to see all the fantastic things you’ve been doing in lockdown. We look forward to seeing you all back on Monday!

Please do not hesitate to keep posting pictures on the Learning Journals, we love seeing all the fun you have at home! Please contact us if you need any help accessing the Learning Journals.

In the nursery we made some yummy pancakes and some tasty noodles with prawn crackers for snack. We have been using chopsticks and doing threading to build our fine motor skills. We have been making lovely cards and pictures and building amazing houses with our bricks. We are all excited to see our friends again next week!
