May 19th 2020 – it’s Tuesday!!

Hello, I hope you are all well. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. It’s all about being kind to each other.

I had a lovely email from Lynda in P2. She was feeling super proud as I had sent her a House Certificate. She also told me about the baking she and her family are doing as they prepare to celebrate Eid at the weekend.

Lynda busy baking….

She very kindly sent me the recipe and some top tips!

Recipe for Barquettes:

– 250g soft butter

– 2 eggs

200 g granulated sugar

– 1 baking powder (15 g)

– Flour

Beat all ingredients one by one in order mentioned  ☝️To make a nice handy  paste
On a floured work surface, roll out the dough to  2 mm height and cut small squares. Put each one in a mould (you can use any shape you have). Then add a tea spoon of apricot🍑   jam or strawberry 🍓 jam inside and cover the top with another square of paste.

Baste the top with jam and almande flakes or coconut if you don’t have almond.

Bake for 20 minutes at 150C or until golden .

This is how it looks  inside.  Mrs Jessop, please make sure to stick very well the top and bottom paste with daddy finger😂😂 to avoid jam come out in the oven.  (Mr Jessop has volunteered to help with this bit)

I am going to do my best to produce some yummy Barquettes and I will put the pictures on here! I am adding some house points to Lynda’s next card as well.

My best wishes to all of our families observing Ramadan. I hope you have a lovely celebration at the weekend, may this special day bring peace, happiness and prosperity to everyone, Eid Mubarak! ( i hope that is correct)

Take care and Be Kind to each other, Mrs Jessop

School Uniform Day – look at you!!!!

Thank you to everyone who sent us a photo. It was so nice to see you all!

it was almost like looking out across the hall at assembly if i squinted a bit and looked sidey ways! I felt very proud of you all and …..very lonely!

so I thought I would look for a school picture of my own. (yes, cameras had been invented when I was at school)

I am looking forward to the time we can all see each other in person and celebrate success together.

Take care, Mrs Jessop

Get ready for WOW Wednesdays!!!

We have decided to have a WOW Wednesday each week on our Blog posts to celebrate all the lovely work, pictures and photos of everyone keeping busy that arrive each week.

Every class will post their stars on their own blog.

It’s a chance to celebrate and share the wonderful and talented young people at Royal Mile Primary.

We’ll be mentioning all the people who are getting their House Certificates and feeling very proud!

We also need to SHOUT OUT to our fabulous staff who are doing a superlative job in these unprecedented times and…….the fabulous families for their support and enthusiasm.

Well done everybody!

Enjoy a peaceful weekend and look after each other, Mrs Jessop.
