The whole school took part in the nationwide Maths Week last week. Each class visited a local venue and collected maths facts while they were there!

P7 went to Starbucks (not for a Frappuccino!) and collected data on the habits of consumers, which we converted into pie charts using excel.

So if you fancy a challenge over the October break, see if you can visit all the places in the booklet and evidence your visit in a range of ways. When you’re tired out from all your collecting, counting and calculating and feel like a pit stop to refuel, you can collect data on the habits of shoppers where you stop!  Each visit will earn you a house point on your return!

For homework, each pupil will receive a written maths task from their numeracy teacher and complete a page of the reading journal in relation to a book that they are reading at home.

Full details of homework expectations and topics covered this term can be found in the attached plan.

During Maths week the classes visited some of the local places close to school.  Each class put together a fact file or completed an activity related to one of these places.  (There is a link at the bottom of this post.)

Over the holidays you can earn yourself bonus house points by visiting these places.  The more you visit the more house points you can earn.
