Reminder- P5 Homework Folders

Home learning suggestions to consolidate lessons throughout the week will now be posted on the class blog at the end of each week. We would like to minimise any worksheets or jotters going back and forward so it is encouraged that tasks are completed from the blog at home with adult support. If you feel that there is something that you would like support with or to share then this can be brought in and will be quarantined before it is looked at.

We are still awaiting the return of plastic homework folders that were taken home during lockdown. We currently have 3/21 folders returned to P5. These are the folders that pupils used throughout P4 and are a teal colour. Please could you have a search at home and bring these in as soon as you can. Thank you!

New rules

The Scottish Government have issued new rules to keep us safe and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. New rules can be confusing for us all.

Here is a visual representation of some of the new rules. They will help us all to understand them a bit better.

We will continue to check and follow local government advice.

Remember to clean your hands often and stay physically distanced from people who are not in your household.

Homework in Primary 7

As this is a short week, P7 will focus on Maths homework. There are 4 tasks on Education City, under the homework tab. These are to be completed by Thursday, 24th of September and relate to the angle work we have been doing in class. If you are stuck or it is simply not working for you, please do ask me.

If you would like to consolidate your spelling words at home, the link to the word patterns for this week are below. As is the spelling grid to choose an activity from.

From Monday, 28th of September, the homework folders will be going back and forth. This will contain spelling grids, paper, a reading comprehension relating to an Ebook on Activelearn and from time to time, a written maths task. Pupil login details will also be kept in folders. If you have a blue homework folder at home, please do bring it in as soon as you can.

Primary 2 Homework 22nd September

As this is both a short week and Maths Week, P2’s homework will focus on Maths tasks this week. There are some tasks on Education City, under the Homework tab. Please attempt to complete at least any 2 of these by this Thursday.
We have begun to review shape and the homework tasks are linked to this. If you have any issues accessing or completing the work please let me know.

You should also have ‘Aaaarrgghh Spider!‘ assigned on Active Learn to read and discuss with your child. We were starting to role play as different characters to answer questions as the character we chose while in class this afternoon.

We are still awaiting several homework folders to come back to begin to send the homework folders back and forth and we hope to begin this from next Monday, the 28th of September. Please do keep sending these back as you find them.
We are currently working with some whole class reading but in advance of group reading books, please sign up for a free account on Oxford Owls.

In general, please do check the blog on Mondays for homework information especially where we will be easing into homework and what this will involve. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me via the school office.

Regards,
Mrs Aylward
