Hello LCC,
Did you know that 29th of January is National Puzzle Day?
Puzzles could include crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, riddles or brain-teasers.
Scientists have learned that when we work on a jigsaw puzzle, we use both sides of the brain, which can improve our memory and problem solving skills.
Activities you could try today to celebrate National Puzzle Day:
- Complete a jigsaw puzzle. If you don’t have any at home you could do an online jigsaw puzzle e.g at https://www.jigsawexplorer.com/

2. Do a Sudoku.
This powerpoint explains how to solve a Sudoku and gives you one to solve.
3. Solve a riddle.

Here are some to try out. You can email your answers to admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk

4. If you really fancy a challenge Edinburgh Evening News has given everybody free access to their puzzles page in order to celebrate National Puzzle Day. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/puzzles
We hope you have lots of fun with puzzles today!

There are some very, very tricky puzzles here – I think the answer to one of your brain teasers is an onion! Well done, Mrs Jessop
