  • Some of the class blogs have a challenge question or two about entering the zoo in their zoo guide, can you answer them?
  • Can you find some of our tour animals on the interactive map?
  • Can you name another animal on the map that we aren’t visiting as a class today?
  • Do you have your masks with you? If so, can you share them with us via Twitter or send in a photo?

Welcome to Primary 6

To all current Primary Five children and families,

I hope you are all doing well and have been able to stay in contact with each other over the lock down period. I am pleased to tell you that I will be your primary six teacher next year.

Although there are still many unknowns and questions about next year for children, parents and staff we will all work to make sure that next year is as normal as possible and children and families are well supported.

Mr McPheely

The classroom is looking a little different at the moment with the desks spaced two metres apart and the walls bare. But we can soon make it feel a little more warm and welcoming.

The grid for this week is all based on transition and moving on to primary six. It would be great to hear from as many of you as possible. You can email me at admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk with the subject ‘FAO Mr McPheely’. I have attached the grid and all other resources needed below. There is also a social story to help explain coming back to school too.

Hopefully I will hear from many of you over the next week. If not have a fantastic summer and I am looking forward to welcome you back in August!

All the best!

Mr McPheely

Primary 6 Home Learning Grid W.C. 15/6/20

Hi Primary 6 Families,

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe and healthy. It has been great to hear from so many of you either through email, phone calls and Microsoft Teams. It has been great to stay in touch.

I have attached the grid and all of the resources needed for this week. It would be great to get as many of the HWB tasks as possible. They will help with the transition into target setting and will be going into profile jotters when possible. I have attached both a PDF and Word version so they can be printed and handwritten or can be typed straight in using Microsoft Word. If you are not able to do either you can use the sheet as a template and write it straight onto paper.

All the best!

Mr McPheely
