On Monday the 22nd of January we had an engineer from Edinburgh University come to visit us to get us launched into the 2018 Scottish Engineering Leaders Award. For the competition the children have to answer the question, ‘If you were an engineer, what would you do?’. They need to identify a problem, come up with an annotated design and a persuasive letter. Please support your children in this exciting endeavour.

Termly Overview P7
World Soil Day
Tuesday the 5th of December was World Soil Day. We thought about the importance of soil and planted bulbs around our privilege area. We also created designs for the whole school poster on our Eco board.
Visit to the Library
P7 went to the library to learn how to search the catalogue and find reference books. This will support us as we start our homework research project; we will be finding out more about an area (e.g. state or province) or a major city in North America. Most of the children now have library cards, but if for whatever reason your child was unable to do so, please let me know, as I have spare registration forms.
Christmas Concert
Today we had our first rehearsal at James Gillespie’s High School for the Christmas concert. We will be taking part in a performance of Africa by Toto and Jingle Bell Rock with other P7s from our cluster at the Usher Hall on 19th December. Please do help your child practise these songs at home.
