Lit In Colour winners

Royal Mile Primary School were the winners of a competition run by Lit In Colour. Lit In Colour was created in 2020 by Penguin Books, and their aim was to find ways to support schools to introduce more books by people of colour into the classroom, for all ages.

We received a lovely collection of books for each class, written by authors of colour and many featuring diverse characters.

Here are some photos of our children enjoying them.

This month we compared aspects of the Victorian era such as transport, crime and punishment with modern times.

Primary 6 enjoyed some yoga on our big screen in the gym hall 🙂

Finishing off Algebra and function machines and …

moving on to telling the time on digital and analogue clocks. We are mainly working on quarter past and quarter to. Some of us are able to tell the time in 1 minute intervals.

Circle time for sharing news and playing games:

We are continuing to work on NUMBER BEFORE/AFTER in the orange level of mental agility until the end of this year.

P6 are especially pleased with their STEM project on marble mazes:

This month we focused on animal migration and writing reports. We then discussed and evaluated them with a partner:
