P5 Homework for Thursday, 4th of November

Dear Primary 5 families,

I hope you have all had a lovely Halloween weekend. This week, we are starting our homework with our new homework folders. These should go home on a Monday and return to school on a Thursday.

Each folder will contain a blue lined jotter for spelling and any written tasks, blank paper (if the task you have chosen is suited better to this, please do use it) and either details of Education City/Active Learn tasks or a maths worksheet.

This week, our pattern is: Silent k/h/b/t. There are 10 spelling words to practise, however if your child already knows several, they can choose to practise the three challenge words in place of 3 they already know.

There are 4 spelling tasks on the page, please choose one to complete on either the blank paper or in the homework jotter. For numeracy, we are practising addition and subtraction. Please complete on the sheet.

If anything is not clear or there are any concerns, please do let me know.

I hope you all have a lovely week.

Kind regards,

Mrs Harrison

October Highlights in Primary 5

At the start of the month,  P5 went on a fantastic trip to the Georgian House. We learnt about how the family and the servants lived, examined artefacts and explored the beautiful Georgian House at No. 7 Charlotte Square. We also got to dress up!

This week, we have been having a Halloween themed week, working on our describing words to write the start of a spooky story, solving a maths mystery and decorating our own munchkin pumpkins!

Primary 5 Homework for Thursday 14th of October

Dear Primary 5 families,

As you know, we are going to the Georgian House today, so as we would then have only 3 days to practise our spelling patterns, we shall only have numeracy homework this week. This you can find on Education City as usual, with a focus on the times tables we have revised far: 2, 3, 4, 5. Please also take some time to practise the tables verbally throughout the week.

Any device or internet issues, please just let me know.

I hope you all have a lovely week.

Kind regards,

Mrs Harrison

Primary 5 Homework for Thursday, 7th of October

Dear Primary 5 families,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. The homework for this week will follow a similar format as last week. There are 6 activities assigned to you on Education City for numeracy (please look out for your login details which were sent home in letters).

For spelling this week, our words follow our new pattern of wh.

whale

what

when

where

which

whisper

whistle

white

who

why

Please have a go at the active spelling task outlined below to practise at home (you can jump instead if you wish!).

Hop on one foot as you spell words, this is a great exercise in balance.

I hope you all have a lovely week.

Kind regards,

Mrs Harrison
