Welcome to our website
Primary 4 have enjoyed a pencil free maths week! We have been doing lots of active learning in class and outdoors, with a focus on addition and telling the time.

Hello,
This week in spelling we are still focussing on words that end with -le.
Our words are:
bubble, scribble, cuddle, middle, muddle, paddle, puddle, riddle, saddle, juggle, smuggle, apple, battle, bottle, kettle, little, dazzle, drizzle, puzzle
Choose 2 of the activities below:
Odd One Out – For each of your spelling words, write four words. One is your spelling word, two relate to your spelling word and one is the odd word out that doesn’t fit with the other two.
Wacky Words – On a sheet of paper, write your spelling words in different directions, filling up the whole sheet. Use different colours and types of writing for each word.
Rhyming Wheels – Think of as many words as you can that rhyme with your spelling words.
Alliteration – Write a sentence for each of your spelling words using as much alliteration as possible.
Sentence Smart – Write a sentence for each of your spelling words.
Story Time – Write a story using as many of your spelling words as you can. Underline each of your spelling words.
Working Out Words – Group your spelling words into nouns, adjectives, verbs etc.
Cartoon Connection – Create a cartoon strip using as many spelling words as you can.
You have an addition and subtraction code cracking activity for homework. You can choose from 2 digits, 3 digits or 4 digits. First work out what the numbers are (using the emojis to help you), then add your numbers together.
Good luck!

The words we are practising are:
bible, bundle, candle, handle, needle, noodle, poodle, chuckle, prickle, tickle, uncle, angle, ankle, grumble, able, cable, fable, sable, table, sample, simple

In class we thought of some more words that have this pattern, such as: kitten, litter, hitting, swimming, killing, rotten, filling, little
Can you think of any more?
Please practise your spelling words using the activities at this QR code :

You have a maths activity in your homework jotter already, practising sorting numbers into venn diagrams.

This week, pupils have been filling in a questionnaire to share their thoughts about sports day.
Pupils were invited to suggest new activities and share feedback.
Some pupils were concerned that only ‘sporty people’ win. Remember – staff also award points and certificates for effort, resilience and team spirit!

Pupils also rated each activity from 1-5.
Below are the scores and show how we have selected this year’s activities.

See you all on the 14th June for a fun day of sports!
