P2’s Enterprise Success!

Primary 2 requested a trip to Edinburgh Zoo as their end of year celebration, however after seeing the £98 price tag, we decided that we would need to do some fundraising to help make this happen.

Influenced by Taylor Swift’s upcoming concerts in Edinburgh, we created lots of plain and lettered friendship bracelets, practising our repeating pattern and fine motor skills.
We applied our knowledge of food hygiene when icing biscuits and our life cycle knowledge to sow, water and nurture the sunflower seedlings.

We used our literacy skills to create posters which were eye-catching and clear to advertise at Waverley Court – Edinburgh Council offices, and our tech and maths skills to set up the SumUp card machine shop, deciding prices and ‘bundle’ offers!

On the day, Primary 2 behaved in a professional, confident and responsible manner, encouraging people to come to their stall, handling money, answering questions and very impressively, managing the card machine! “Tap here please!”

Primary 2 raised ⭐£161 ⭐ exceeding their £98 target!!

We had amazing feedback from the staff at Waverley Court about the enthusiasm and behaviour of the pupils.

They were rewarded with an opportunity to ice their own biscuits, which they got to take home. They also made and took home a personalised friendship bracelet each!

⭐WELL DONE Primary 2!!!!

Sports Day

This week, pupils have been filling in a questionnaire to share their thoughts about sports day.
Pupils were invited to suggest new activities and share feedback.
Some pupils were concerned that only ‘sporty people’ win. Remember – staff also award points and certificates for effort, resilience and team spirit!

Pupils also rated each activity from 1-5.

Below are the scores and show how we have selected this year’s activities.

See you all on the 14th June for a fun day of sports!

RME trip – Synagogue

Primary 2 have been learning about Judaism. They demonstrated great respect and curiosity during their trip to the synagogue. Pupils identified items and retold stories which they had learnt about in class and asked and answers questions with Rabbi Rose. They also walked very sensibly to and from the synagogue, demonstrating safe road crossing and awareness of risk. The pupils particularly enjoyed their walk back through Holyrood Park!

Couldn’t be Prouder!

Colin and I were in awe Primary 2’s amazing effort, fabulous confidence and professionalism during their class showcase assembly. The class created the show, including recording the video in 3 short but busy days – what an achievement!

We’re sorry to say that we were so focussed on the pupils that neither Colin nor I took any photos of the assembly or art gallery!

A huge thank you to Primary 4 for this lovely feedback from our assembly!
