Primary 2 – Homework 7th February 2022
General Homework for 7th February
Reading – Reading books will not go out this week due to the upcoming February break.
Literacy – Practise reading your red words and complete the work in your child’s orange jotter.
Safer Internet Day – create a poster or leaflet with your top 5 tips to stay safe online.
Maths – Continue to look over your Mental Agility Activity Sheet. Have a go at one or two activities on the sheet. We are thinking about estimating (having a really good guess/prediction) about how long things take. Have a guess at some of the things on the worksheet that goes home today. Primary 2 – Week in Review
Welcome to another Week in Review for Primary 2! Languages Week work has kept us busy and some of this you’ll see more of in the coming weeks. Here’s a Spanish version of Baby Shark to get us started!
In our Time work we have enjoyed playing some of the games on Education City as we focus on telling the time to half past on an analogue clock using words. We have made our own paper plate clocks as we prepare to look at quarter past next and we also spend some thought on estimating time and how many times we can do an action like hopping in one minute. We had some really good guesses for our estimating!
In literacy we worked on the ‘ou‘ and ‘oy‘ sounds this week. Here and here are some games for ‘ou‘ and ‘oy‘ to practise if you wish. We read The Four Singers as a new fairy tale this week and acted out part of the story using our voices, bodies and facial expressions! Feel free to read over this on Active Learn.
In a very busy Languages Week we looked at the story and traditions around the Lunar New Year and how it is the year of the tiger this time! We looked at different stories in other languages such as the The Very Hungry Caterpillar in Spanish and we got to hear a story in Scots at the Children’s Library this week. We really enjoyed looking at a range of their bilingual books too.

As we come to the end of this week’s review, a big congratulations for…

Altay
for being a Successful Learner and his efforts to complete his work, follow instructions and for his fantastic working in literacy.
Lastly, Primary 2 enjoyed hearing this story and we remembered some of the other stories in this series:
Have yourselves a lovely weekend, remember to have fun and we look forward to seeing you next week!
