Open Day and Registration for New August 2020 Primary 1 Pupils
Primary School Open Day 30 October 2019 Primary School Registration P1 August 2020Primary
I am sure you will have seen the posters in local services like the doctor’s surgery and advertisements in the press about these two events.
At Royal Mile the families and carers of prospective pupils may come to have a look around the building and ask questions between 9.30 – 10.15am and 1.30 – 2.15pm on WEDNESDAY 30th October 2019.
Staff will conduct short tours of the school to small groups. We ask that visitors are considerate and remain aware that they are in a busy learning and teaching environment.
Visitors should report to the MAIN SCHOOL OFFICE and sign in. They should remain with their tour party at all times and follow the instructions given by their guide. Any younger children should be supervised closely.
Registration week runs from 4th – 11th November and families should go to their CATCHMENT school to complete the registration forms and present the correct and current proofs required.
If you would prefer to apply for an ‘out of catchment’ place in another Primary School you still need to register at your local school first and then complete a request.
You should bring your child’s birth certificate, current 19/20 Council
Tax Form and proof of address with you.
If your child is a baptised Roman Catholic and is applying for a place
in your Roman Catholic catchment primary school, you should also
bring along your child’s baptism certificate.

You can come and register at any time, however we suggest after 9.30am and before 2.30pm are probably best as the school office can get very busy at the beginning and end of the day.
We look forward to seeing you at these events

usher Hall Concert
Primary 7 will be taking part in this fabulous event again this year at the Usher Hall. It is always inspiring to see the talented musicians from James Gillespie’s High School. It is even more amazing to hear the Primary 7 choir made up of young people from all the feeder primaries: James Gillespie’s, Sciennes, Tollcross, Preston Street, Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce and Royal Mile, singing together on stage.
We hope very much all of our young people will be there to represent the school and that you will come along and enjoy the concert.

Maths Week
I know that every class has posted this wee booklet already – but we are really proud of the hard work and the maths fun that it represents!
I think the children really enjoyed sharing their activities outdoors on the Friday morning with their families – even the weather didn’t put us off!
