To help us keep in touch we are setting up a class Twitter page. The age limit is 13 on Twitter so it is important that parents and carers monitor and oversee the communication on this account. The account will be private and monitored during school hours only. It is important that your child stays safe on line so here is some information for you. https://www.net-aware.org.uk/networks/twitter/

If we have photo permission for the school website and blog we will apply this to this Twitter account as well. The code of conduct applies so everyone should be polite, considerate and respectful. It is a good way for you to share what you have been doing and for us to keep in touch.

The Twitter accounts are linked to the Blog as well so you can see see these posts as well.

Dear Parents/ Carers and pupils,

Our first challenge is for you to design us a Profile Picture for the account!

Your submission must be in the shape of a circle but it can be drawn by hand or made on a computer or tablet. It can be a drawing or a collage or some other electronically made image. This post from yesterday can help you if you want to scan a picture to send in. (Kindly put together by Mrs Aylward). You may wish to use this document to help your design: Twitter Profile Picture Competition. Please email submissions to admin@royalmile.edin.sch.uk.

  • What we are looking for:
    • a clear, neat picture/image either shaded using tone or popping with colour to grab attention!
    • the picture should have something to do with Primary 7! (think of our experiences as a class for example)
    • No larger than what can fit onto an A4 page.

Thank you! I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

  • The picture can be made by hand or on a computer/tablet.
  • It must be in the shape of a circle. You may wish to use this document to help with your layout.

Seasons for Growth

Hi to you all,

How are we this week? Hope you are all doing ok. I think this week has been a bit harder than last.I have started to look at the clock more and miss people I can’t see just now. So I had to think positively and start to do some more things in my day and be grateful for all the amazing things around me.

I hope you are doing ok and filling your days with good things.

Today our task is to watch this ted talk

After you watch it can you write, draw or photograph  5 things in nature you are grateful for today.

Can you find out something about someone else you didn’t know about them ?

Can you tell me your top 5 pieces of technology/apps/games .

Hope you find lots to be grateful for today.

Miss Finlayson
