Our Learning Heroes help to remind us that we need to use our superpowers when we are learning. Through the story of the Bear and Ellie, we learn about the heroes who can help us on our learning journey. To read the story, click the link below.
Our weekly Timetable
As you can see from our timetable below, we have outdoor learning on Tuesdays and Outdoor PE on Wednesdays. We are not getting changed for PE at the moment so please wear suitable clothes on these days. Please bring a warm waterproof coat every day as we may take our learning outside!

Water bottles are a super fun way to take our learning outside! Making shapes and letters while squeezing and making our hands strong. Not to worry if you make a mistake as the sun will dry it all up ☀️
This week we introduced the letters n and i. We now know 6 letters s,a,t,p,i,n. With these letters we can make lots of words!
When we put letters together, they make words. This is a key piece of understanding. Often these words follow the pattern Consonant, Vowel, Consonant. Like cat, tin or sit. These are called CVC words.
Can you blend the letters together to read these words?

We have 3 steps in our writing
- Think about what it is you want to write down. “I went to the park”. It has 5 words.
- Write down the words or sounds you know. Leave a space in between words and put a full stop at the end.
- Now we need to read what has been written.
We also introduced our first tricky word this week… I. We use I a lot in our Monday writing diaries. “I went to the park”, “I did some shopping”, “I helped Dad”.
I is a tricky word because it cannot be ‘sounded out’. Tricky words are sometimes called ‘sight words’. It’s just a case of learn learn learn learning them. The video below is a catchy way to learn tricky words.
Each class in the school has a set of class representatives; pupils who represent the class for different topics. The Pupil Council will meet with Mrs Jessop (Head Teacher) to make big decisions about the school. The Eco Rep will meet with Mr McPheely (P6) about recycling and looking after the planet. The HWB Rep will meet with Ms Finlayson (SFL) to talk about healthy brains and bodies (Health week) and the Art Rep will meet with Miss Kerr (P7) to talk about the yearly Art Gallery. Due to Covid, we are not yet sure how everyone will meet, but may I say a big well done to everyone who was brave and volunteered and congratulations to the pupils who were voted in!
