Welcome to Primary 6

I hope that everyone has had an enjoyable and restful summer.

Now we are back and have had a very busy start to the term, revising place value, learning all about different types of poetry and making a start to our Victorian topic.

There are lots of fun and exciting activities and opportunities coming up, details of these and the overview for the first term (until Christmas) can be found linked below.

We have moved from the homework jotter to a new homework folder. The expectation is that the homework folder will go home every evening and be returned the following day. Children will also be required to record their homework in their homework diaries; this is both to encourage them to develop independence and prepare them for high school. There is a section at the bottom of each week for parents or carers to sign to confirm that homework has been completed and checked at home.

Other important information:

-PE days are currently Thursday and Friday. This will be changed to one longer PE session on a Thursday at the Crags Sport Centre later in the term due to ongoing building works in school). Please ensure that your child comes prepared with a full PE kit on these days. Please also ensure that children are aware jewellery should not be worn during PE lessons.

-Please ensure that your child comes to school with a water bottle.

-Children should ensure that any mobile phones are stored in safe keeping throughout the school day. This is to prevent any loss or damage.

-Children should not bring or use permanent markers while at school, as these can cause damage to clothing and school property.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
