The 1st of November is National Outdoor Classroom Day, a global campaign to celebrate outdoor learning and play. On this day, thousands of schools around the world take lessons outdoors and enjoy playing outside.
In our nursery, however, we view every day as an opportunity for outdoor learning and have resources from all areas of the curriculum accessible in our garden. This is made easier with our free-flow playroom/garden and our amazing location. The children are often involved in taking care of our outdoor space through planting, gardening and creating decorations such as wind chyme’s. We love exploring our local community and visits to places such as Holyrood Park/Dunbar’s Close. Here are some pictures of what we have been up to on Outdoor Classroom Day in the nursery.
