Well done Amin!
Today we completed our class charter. Each of the rights links to our school value of RESPECT and we have created our roles to uphold these rights and show respect to our friends, our grown ups, our environment and, most importantly, ourselves.

Our roles say we will be safe, kind and gentle, we will listen, we will look after property and we will learn.

We look forward to showing you us practising these throughout our P1 year ☺️

Welcome everyone! 🙂
In order to start building a good understanding of number we spend time every day working on Mental Agility.
As a whole school we decided to following the section of this rainbow:

We are starting the year with the blue section:
Combing and Partitioning Numbers and Place Value
We will be singing lots of number songs and playing many games in order to use all our senses!
Please find attached some activities we will be covering in school.
Lots of learn through play and repetition will help our learners to become confident!

We would really appreciate your support and regular revision at home too, such as:
What number is on this bus? Let’s count back from 5 together.
Here is a song you could sing together at home:
Please feel free to let us know about any questions or concerns you may have!

We are moving towards a becoming cashless society. More pupils in Primary 1 have seen their grown ups use a mobile phone to pay compared to using coins!
“I am developing my awareness of how money is used and can recognise and use a range of coins. MNU 0-09a”
We will be supporting your child to…
To start our topic, we opened with 3 questions

We have been sorting and matching coins

To understand that each coin has a different worth, we have been playing with dot cards – combining cards with different dot amounts to pay for an item.

Primary 1 can arrive as early as 8:45am to school however must not be any later than 8:55.
We will be leaving school promptly. We will be walking to the museum and walking back in time for lunch.
Shop – The museum has a gift shop, all profits from which go to charity.
A maximum amount of £2 will be allowed on this trip per child.
Staff will do their best however we kindly remind you that pupils are ultimately responsible for their money.
