The marvellous CELTS!

P3 have been working very hard on our

CELTIC TOPIC

Your homework challenge for the next 2 weeks is to create something related to the CELTS.

Please use any resources you find around your house or outside and recycle them into something the Celts may have used. Please use any materials you would usually recycle. This is a cost free exercise.

Please make sure you check wit a grown up before you start your project.

Maybe you would like to make a tool from IRON AGE. You might like to make an ornament or jewellery.

Here are some ideas made from paper, plastic and cardboard:

Fantastic Friday!

Welcome back to Fantastic Friday, where we showcase the excellent work and play taking place in the nursery each week. This week we have been focussing on the book Teeny Weeny Tadpoles so we have been learning about the life cycle of frogs and continuing to talk about the different stages of life for lots of animals. We used messy play to explore the feeling of frogspawn, played with shaving foam and experimented in the water tray. We used a magnifying glass to examine the tiny insects that frogs eat, talked about what our favourite foods are and the different tastes and textures of fruit and vegetables. We explored how frogs move at different stages of their life cycle and even made bouncing frogs on lily pads. We used lots of materials to create amazing masks, cool cars and plates of our favourite food. We did some brilliant writing and talked about all the letters of the alphabet, naming things that start with each letter. We made playdough animals and pizzas, helped make some yummy cupcakes for snack, did some animal puzzles, played with the small world castle and farm and showed off our gross motor skills in the soft play! We were busy builders in our construction area, hammering, measuring and building trains. We enjoyed a little bit of sunshine in the garden, riding bikes, climbing, jumping and building.

We look forward to seeing you back after the long weekend on Wednesday the 5th of May. Please keep posting your wonderful pictures on the Learning Journals and contact us if you need any help to do so.

Fantastic Friday!

Welcome back to Fantastic Friday, where we showcase the excellent work and play taking place in the nursery each week. This week we were excited to be back with all our friends and were settling back into our nursery routines. We were focusing on the book Dora’s eggs so we had lots of interesting discussions about all the different farm animals and learned all about their babies, the sounds they make and where they live. We talked about what makes us feel proud, about our families, friends and our feelings. We have been having fun playing with lots of different animals in our small world area and doing animal puzzles and counting games. We have been enjoying some animal nursery rhymes, playing some fun group games together and showing off our gymnastic skills in the soft play. We have been creating beautiful pictures of different animals using lots of different kinds of resources, drawing our families and even made some lovely handbags. We helped to prepare a tasty picnic snack and made some yummy gingerbread men. We have been spending lots of time outside in the sunshine playing in the garden and going out to the park.

Please post pictures of your fun work and play from home on the Learning Journals and please contact us if you need any help to do so. Thank you!
