Next Year

Hello Primary 5 (Primary 6 to be!)

I am delighted to share with you and your families that we will be continuing our learning journey together after the summer holidays. I will be your Primary 6 teacher. I am really looking forward to teaching everyone again and having the opportunity to spend some more time with you all. This week we will be having a think about our goals for next session. On Thursday we will get to explore our new classroom together.

Welcome to Primary 4!

Hello Boys and Girls (and your parents and carers at home),

I am delighted to be the Primary 4 teacher from August, when I return from my maternity leave. I know we will be able to work together to learn lots and lots of new things and have fun too!

I try very hard to create a nurturing and supporting classroom environment and expect children to try hard with their work and show a caring attitude to others.

I look forward to seeing you all again in August and sharing our successes with our school community.

Mrs Peoples 😊

Primary 7 Blog

Hello again!

A HUGE hello &

to PRIMARY 7 and MsBrunner!

I am very excited to be teaching some of you again in P7 – I remember spending time with those who have been at Royal Mile since Primary 1 like it was yesterday! 🙂

I am super looking forward to getting to know you (better) and really proud to be part of the final year of primary education and the privileges and responsibilities it comes with!

It is exciting that you will get to spend some time together in our new classroom this Thursday afternoon and maybe decide where your seat will be when you get back in August.

I am very curious to find out more about yourselves and what you might be excited and nervous about. I can’t wait to chat about what you hope to achieve and any questions you may have, after the summer holiday!

Already looking forward,

Your P7 team (Mrs Speedie, MsBrunner & Mrs MacAulay)

Our Books

We can’t wait to show you our finished books that we have been writing! We have worked SO hard on them and are very proud. We can’t wait to share them with you!

Measuring

Primary 1 have been showing off their measuring skills – sorting items from shortest to longest and measuring items in CM with a ruler.

Moving on

Moving to your next class can be a scary idea, however this week we received some really lovely and comforting letters from Primary 2 telling us not to be scared and how we will have lots of fun in Primary 2!

We passed on this kindness by writing a message for the nursery pupils who were visiting the P1 classroom

End of term…

The final week of school can be a turbulent one, however we endeavour to keep as many class routines in as we can to keep our pupils as settled and relaxed as possible.

We will be commencing our end of year ‘To Do List‘, such as taking home our indoor shoes, work and tray contents, as well as moving our things into our new classroom.

We will also be doing lots of fun and exciting things such as… going on another treasure hunt to find some VERY important treasure, virtual House Quiz, watching the video message from your P2 teacher, P7 virtual leavers show, virtual prize giving and of course a class party!

On Friday we will finish school at 11:55 as normal. Please be aware that it is also still school uniform.

Please enjoy the video below showing a few moments our fun filled year together.

From the proudest teachers,

Miss Copeland, Mrs McGlashan and Mrs B

Nursery Blog

Fantastic Friday

This week at nursery we have been reading the story Shark in the dark, talking about transport and the transition to school. We have discussed what sharks like to eat and how that compares to what we like. We have talked about what makes us feel frightened and how we find support to feel better.

We enjoyed making and writing our own amazing stories, drawing and discussing the holidays we have been on, making boats for the water tray, drawing different modes of transport and sea creatures exploring their features and their natural environment. We have been driving around on our nursery road and exploring ways to stay safe when travelling. We experimented with pouring and filling in the water tray and catching fish and we enjoyed some fun messy sensory play.

We have been building stages and performing our own dance moves, helped make some yummy banana cakes for snack and some fun play dough. We are still enjoying doing the wake up shake up exercise video in the mornings and helped to make a thank you video for the primary 5s. We have enjoyed playing in the sunshine in the garden, on our forest school adventure and at the park. Our pre-schoolers finished their passports to primary school this week and are getting excited about their transition to school!

Thank you so much for all your lovely posts on the Learning Journals, please continue to post pictures as we love to see all the fun things you are doing at home! Please contact us if you need any support to do this.
