Black History Month in Primary 2

This is Primary 2’s poster for Mary Seacole who was our focus for Black History Month. We worked to think about all the things Mary Seacole did in her life and why we remember her now and this is the compilation of our pictures that went into our information poster which is now out in the corridor on display with every other classes’ work. Well done everyone for working so hard!
Black History Month
During October it was Black History Month and throughout the school each class created a poster celebrating important Black people.
In Primary 4 we studied and celebrated Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks.

Black History Month
Throughout October we have been learning about famous and historical people of colour. We particularly focused on Mary Seacole and Rosa Parks and will be continuing our learning through our mini topic on the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and the British Empire. Please have a look at our poster and leave us a comment to say what you think.

Black History Month in Primary 7

During October, Primary 7 have been learning about Black History Month. We discussed the impact of the Slave Trade and the links to Scotland. We learned about Rosa Parks and how her actions inspired protests and initiated the Civil Rights Movement. We considered why there is a Black History Month and reflected on current influential black people at the moment.
We would love to know what you think of our poster!
