Fantastic Friday!

Welcome back to Fantastic Friday where we showcase the amazing work and play done in the nursery each week! We have been enjoying the lovely weather this week and have spent a lot of time outside in the garden. We have been learning new group games, that help develop our sharing and turn taking skills. We have also been enjoying our bubble machine which we are very excited about and we’ve been experimenting with mixing our sand and water to create the perfect mixture for sandcastles.

Inside we are continuing to explore our summer theme, we made some lovely Summer pictures using coloured sand, sea shells and made our own sea turtles. We have been reading summer stories and discussing how we keep ourselves safe in the summer sun, by using sun cream, sun hats, glasses and drinking water to keep us safe and cool.
The pirates theme is still ongoing, with some fantastic role play involving dressing up and finding treasure, this led to some excellent pirate dancing. We are still enjoying the gym hall on a Monday and Friday and have been practising our climbing, gymnastics, balancing, strength and football skills.

This terms’ Forest school will be finishing up next week so Colin will be posting some pictures and statements on the learning journals of the children who have been attending.

Next week is the last week of term before the holidays! We have a class picnic at the park first thing on Tuesday morning and on Thursday afternoon we are welcoming all the families in to the nursery for a special pre-school graduation party to say congratulations and goodbye to the children who will be going up to school after the holidays.

Please continue to post pictures of the fun you have at home on the Learning Journals! Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week!
