Primary 3 Blog

week commencing 1st March in P3

Thank you for popping back in!

We are looking forward to another fun week with Miss Borrowman (sadly our last) and hoping for more sunshine and outdoor learning!

World Book day will also be very exciting! ๐Ÿ™‚

Please remember to check

for this week’s homework.

In Health and Wellbeing we are focusing on CHANGE!

Please can you think of a positive change in your life (maybe a new sibling or a bigger house) and a tricky change (maybe a change in family circumstances or losing a pet).

Draw a picture or write about it. It would be lovely for you to share with your class but it is absolutely fine if you rather not.

for all your hard work in school & at home!

Primary 2 Week in Review

Welcome back all to our Week in Review format! We have had a busy week back and it has been lovely to see everyone and to see so many smiling faces!

This week in Literacy, we continued with our magic e pattern looking at the ‘i magic e’ pattern after revising the ‘-y’ and ‘igh’ sounds. We worked well to use ‘i_e‘ sound patterns in games and written work and we revised some more of our tricky words too.

We made some book covers as part of the Authors and Myths work on Wednesday and we also shared favourite authors or legends in class. Thank you for some fantastic contributions!

We have continued with Number of the Day work in class and are starting to look at Time. So far this week we have been looking at reading the time by looking at o’clock and half past on analogue clocks and matching these to their digital times.

Space is our new topic and we started by looking at the Sun as the star of our solar system. We were thinking about how important the Sun is to us on Earth.
We created our own astronaut characters and space rockets as we think about where in space we might really like to go. We loved looking at this size comparison of different things in the universe!

Upcoming and reminders:

Homework

Homework resumes as normal next week. Please do ensure you have returned your homework jotter and pack.
Spelling and Maths homework goes out on a Monday and returns for Thursday.
Reading books will continue to go out on a Thursday to be returned for Monday.

Indoor Shoes

Please do check that your child has suitable and comfortable indoor shoes, especially if they are taking home shoes that are now too small.

Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood education programme

Please find below the home learning information sheet about the Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood education programme Primary 2 will be starting shortly.

We will be focusing on relationships we make and develop, looking at our families, and how all our families are different, what makes us unique, making and having friends and what makes people alike and what makes us different (diversity). Several aspects are also covered by, or otherwise overlap with, our Building Resilience programme work.

The full programme can be found online at https://rshp.scot/first-level/
