P3 had another super week in Outdoor Learning time. We continued our parachute games and introduced new directions, everyone had a chance to be leader. We made bigger groups of numbers like 6 groups of 5 and we changed them around to make 5 groups of 6.

Group 3 discovered a determined caterpillar who had climbed quite some distance up a tree in search of leaves, along with a beetle, a ladybird and lots of ants.

In Outdoor Learning this week P4 all groups visited Holyrood Park to play games and develop skills in giving and following directions. We played ‘Secret Stone’ where we worked together as a team and developed and tested strategies. We played ‘Find my Tree’ with eyes shut then played again using direction vocabulary. We introduced quarter turns and used them with prior knowledge of clockwise and anticlockwise.

Group 1 are the final group to explore and use the terms Agree, Build and Challenge for the talking and listening game ‘Would you Rather’. We used sentence stems to scaffold the discussion. For example:

Agree: ‘The reason I agree with……is because…..’

Build: In addition to ……..’s point, I’d like to add……….’

Challenge: I disagree with…… because……..’

P5 Home Consolidation

Linked above are some suggested activities for home to consolidate learning from throughout the past week. Remember that although we have been asked not to transfer physical copies of homework between school and home this term, I am happy to provide feedback on work sent in by email.

Request: If anyone still has a green plastic folder issued during remote learning, could they please return these to school for future use. Thank you so much.

JASS Final Week!

This week is our final week for all our JASS activities. As you know, we have been supporting our school community for Me and my World, we have our Epic Day as our Adventure, we are completing our Bikeability course this week for Get Active, Stay Active.

This week, we are pulling together everything that we have done for Me and My Interests. Many of you have sent lots of wonderful photos and many have new skills to show. Please use your homework time this week to think about what you want to say  about or how you would like to demonstrate the new skills you have acquired. (If you have sent me photos during this time, I have them all saved and will share them on TEAMS-FILES.) We shall prepare during the week and share in class on Friday the 11th.

I hope you all have a lovely week.
