Primary 2 – Homework 8th November

General Homework for 8th November

Reading –  Reading books should be returning today and new books will go out on Thursday, please ensure you return your reading books on Monday 15th November.

Literacy – Look in your child’s orange homework jotter. We are focusing on handwriting as we revise our sounds. Please take some time to complete the handwriting sheet that is with your child’s jotter. Use your best handwriting to write the green and ‘red’ (tricky) words in your orange jotter two times each.

Maths Please let me know if you are having issues logging into Education City. There will be a Measure Homework for you. Have a go at no more than two activities from the assigned homework OR try the worksheet that goes home today.

Library forms – we will be visiting the Central Library next week on Wednesday the 17th of November. If you don’t already have a library card for your child please do consider filling in the form that goes home today so we can organise this for more regular visits by the school. If you do have a card already for your child you might want to consider sending this in on that Wednesday.

P5 Homework for Thursday, 11th of November

Dear Primary 5 families,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I wanted to let you know that I was so impressed with the prompt return and the quality of the homework from last week. What a great start!

This week, our spelling pattern is silent w/g/l. There are 10 spelling words to practise, however if your child already knows several, they can choose to practise the three challenge words in place of 3 they already know. There are 4 spelling tasks on the page, please choose one to complete on either the blank paper or in the homework jotter.

This week, we have maths homework on our new topic of Shape. The Diamonds will be identifying 2D shapes and the Stars will be identifying the shape of the faces of 3D shapes. (For example, a cube has 6 square faces).

If anything is not clear or there are any concerns, please do let me know.

I hope you all have a lovely week.

Kind regards,

Mrs Harrison

Primary 4 Numeracy!

This week Primary 4 have begun a block of work on multiplication and division. We have been using addition facts, arrays and facts we already know to help us with our work.

There are some multiplication games now added to Education City for the class to practice this – please have a go at home!

You could also play Whack-A-Mole here on the ICT games website to practice counting in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s.
