Primary 2 enjoyed a trip to the Museum on the mound to find out more about money and finance.
It was especially interesting to learn about how money is made. We even got to forge our own coins. Boys and girls were intrigued about what people used before we had coins.
Talk about the value of each digit in a number up to 1 000 or even 1 000 000. (‘How many tens are there in 2 092?’ ‘What position is 2 in in the number 762?’)
Discuss change, notes and coins, given back on a visit to the shops or write down measurements for your class mates to try sharing your favourite recipe. Can you convert them into kg?
Here is a challenge for you in recognising square and cube numbers!
