Welcome back Primary 2!
Hope you all had a nice long weekend – here is our optional home learning grid which you can do with your child to help them practise what we are doing at school.
In literacy, we are working on the Block 3 final consonant blends and Block 3 ‘tricky’ words – there are flashcards which you can download and use to practise with your child; you could do this by playing some games like snap if you print out two sets. Our sound this week is the final -lk blend. Our spelling words are below.
In numeracy we are working on division by sharing and grouping – your child will be able to show you how to make equal groups of objects and how to share objects equally. Have them try it with things you have at home! Last term, we learned how to measure objects (and people!). You can measure things in the house with your child using a ruler or tape measure if you have one.
We have started to learn about plants and what they need to grow. You could go on a walk in the park and have a look at some plants and see if your child can tell you what a plant needs to grow. In class this week we will be planting our own sunflowers to take care of and bring home at the end of term, or plant here in our school garden.
