Term 1 Learning

Gymnastics

We have been learning the 4 gymnastics skills; travelling (running, jumping, hopping, skipping etc), Balancing (on one body part, two body parts, three etc), and rolling (sausage/log rolls).

We are all learning the fundamental skills that lead towards being able to do a forward roll. One of the skills is being able to rock backwards and forwards, as in the videos below.

Please practise this skill at home as it helps to develop core strength which can help with sitting up and writing!

Autumn Learning Fair

Thank you to friends and family who came to support the school during our Autumn Learning Fair. We hope you enjoyed seeing the progression through the school!

Primary 1 recorded our favourite seasons song, after choosing an item to wear that matched their season.

Maths – Time

We have been learning o’clock times on digital and analogue clocks.

Road Safety

What fun we had, wearing our high-vis jackets and playing on the scooters.

We used highlighters to colour our fluorescent vests which helps us be seen and be safe!

Anti-bullying week

Mrs Black and the house captains held a competition to design a poster for anti-bullying week. Below are some of our entries!

Wall Displays

RME

We have been learning that we have the right to our own beliefs.

We learnt that Christians believe in God, follow the bible and pray in a church. A Christingle symbolises what Christians believe.

  • The orange represents the world
  • The red ribbon represents God’s love
  • The 4 sticks represent the 4 seasons (like trees!)
  • The 4 sweeties represent that Christian’s believe god created all creatures (like fruit on the trees)
  • The candle represents light and happiness

We applied our knowledge of symmetry, to create stained glass window inspired art

Santa came to visit, providing a gift for the pupils.
