Here are some of the activities we completed for Maths Week Scotland 2024: Maths Tales!
Addition Adventure
We created pictures to tell an addition story.
Subtraction Showdown
We created a game where contestants solve subtraction problems using giant balls! How many did the Big Bad Wolf steal and how many do you have left? Check out those proud smiles!

We’re going on a… NUMBER hunt!
Have a look at these photos we took on a recent hunt around our local area – We found so many different numerals and they all had different purposes. Phone numbers, price tags, clocks, door entry codes. What can you find in your own home?

Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Primary 1 had great fun acting out this story, taking a different part each time! By the end of the week, the pupils were able to tell the story with very little help from staff.

Too hot, too cold or just right?
Pupils enjoyed testing the temperature of the three bowls of water using their senses. We discussed how using a thermometer would give a number reading.

Porridge day!
Pupils followed a recipe and carefully measured out the ingredients for their porridge as an end of week celebration!
