P3 News and Home Learning

This week we have been looking further at our topic, Japan and we decorated Japanese bowls and looked at the traditional design of cherry tree blossom, painting Cherry Blossom Scrolls and researching the Japanese version of the children’s names. We also got a chance to practice our chopstick skills and we are going to create instruction videos to help other people learn this skill. This week we will be looking at Pokémon and Manga Art in our topic and will be creating posters about our favourite Pokémon or even creating some new ones.

In maths we looked at money and what we could afford from different amounts. We also continued to look at fractions, decorating our pizzas to half and quarter. In writing we undertook our writing assessment based on a recount of our trip to the library.

Home Learning this week will be issued on Monday and should be returned on Friday. There will be a book to read for pleasure, weekly spelling words and Mental Maths Rainbow challenge. Please continue with the Topic Challenge Grid, the work has been wonderful.
