Spelling
This week in spelling we are looking at the ‘ies’ ending. The rule is if a word ends in y then you take the y off and add on the ‘ies’ ending. For example:
apply- applies
cry- cries
spy- spies
Core words
lies, relies, tries, hurries, tides, fries
Mild words
denies, carries, worries, replies
Hot words
qualifies, scurries, supplies, bullies
Maths and Numeracy
This week in maths we have been learning about information handling, specifically tally marks, frequency and grouped frequency tables.
For home learning I would like you to choose one of the following questions to answer, conduct a survey and present the data in either a frequency or grouped frequency table. If you would like to challenge yourself, you can also present the data as a chart or a graph.
- Types of food you can find at home (fruits and vegetables, tins and cans, meat, packets)
- Times people say the following words in a TV show. (now, hello, surely, exhausted, goodbye, love)
- How many different genres of Films/TV shows you can find in one day’s TV or on a streaming site.
